Alter Shield for Rain Gauges

The Texas Electronics Alter Shield is designed to reduce the effect strong wind has on precipitation measurements. The hanging steel leaves help to deflect wind and increase the quality of your precipitation data. Although the alter shield helps with many different precipitation types, the shield’s effect tends to be greater with snow. This device is compatible with all Texas Electronics 525 series rain gauges.
